The annual Toronto International Film Festival is exciting for many reasons; most notably, the celebrities and films that travel to Toronto, along with the glamorous parties that a select few VIPs have the luxury to attend.
In that world of VIP events during TIFF, comes the “gifting lounges” that actors and celebrities get to visit during the madness in order to take a break, get pampered, and, most importantly, fill up on bags, and bags and bags of swag.
While I don’t get invited to all of them (I can only imagine what the super duper elite lounges are like), I was fortunate enough to get a few invites to gifting lounges this year. For #TIFF17, I had the opportunity to attend the #BaskItStyle2017 lounge at the Thompson Hotel, #SuiteOnTheSixth at Rock-It Promotions, and the eTalk x Sephora Canada lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel.
Here are 10 of my favourite products found in #TIFF17 swag bags:
The HP Sprocket is an exciting new device I discovered at the #BaskItStyle2017 lounge. Not only is this mini printer small and super portable, but it connects to your smartphone and allows you to print images quickly and wirelessly. Once printed, you pictures can easily be used as stickers thanks to the adhesive on the back. I overheard someone say they would use their HP Sprocket to help organize their shoe closet — genius! The HP Sprocket Printer retails for $159.99, click HERE to shop!
PERTH SOAP CO.
I’ve been a huge fan of Toronto-based company, Perth Soap Co., for a few years now, and I nearly jumped for joy when I got an invite to the #SuiteOnTheSix lounge and learned that my favourite soaps would be there. Not only are these soaps made locally here in Ontario, but they smell incredible and their milky and moisturizing soaps are what got me back to using bar soaps, even in the shower. No easy feat considering I’ve been a pretty hardcore body wash user since the age of 13. If you have not tried Perth Soap Co. products yet, you absolutely must! Perth Soap Co. prices start at $10.00, click HERE to shop!
If you’re the type of dog owner who A. Wants the best for their dog, and B. Cares about shopping local, then there’s a good chance you already know about HOUND Collection. If not, you need to know about them, and here’s why: this Toronto-based company makes beautiful, luxe dog collars, harnesses and leashes made from quality leather and real gold. Obviously I’ve been eyeing them for quite some time for little #OliveRoll and was thrilled to see them inside the eTalk x Sephora Canada lounge. Shout out to the eTalk team for letting me pick one out for Olive! HOUND collars start at $88, click HERE to shop!
Here’s a fun fact about me: I’m a huge fan of coffee but I also love TEA. However, I did not always love tea (in fact, I didn’t like it all) until I moved to the U.K. Since then, I’ve been converted to a tea lover and now have a bit of major tea addiction. As you can imagine, this makes me an obvious fan of DAVIDsTEA and I loved getting to discover (and take home) some of their new tea flavours — including the Harvest Collection — along with a travel steeper that’s great for fans of loose leaf tea. The Harvest Collection pack retails for $28, click HERE to shop!
Always a sucker for great skincare products, I was excited to discover a face cream by Peoni Skincare from Montreal in the#SuiteOnTheSixth gift bag. Not only is this a plant-based skincare brand, but the Peoni line by Jennifer Brodeur made it onto Oprah’s Favourite Things 2016 list — NBD! If Oprah loves it, you know it’s gonna be good. La Creme by Peoni Skincare retails for $195, click HERE to shop.
Grey Goose Mini Bottle
Huge thanks goes out to the Grey Goose Canada team who very generously offered tickets to a TIFF movie premier to see ‘Downsizing‘ by Alexander Payne, starring Matt Damon. Not only did they deliver tickets straight to me, but they included a little bottle of Grey Goose to kick off the night’s festivities. As I joked to a friend, I do enjoy that these can easily fit into your clutch bag when you’re heading out for a night on the town! Mini bottles of Grey Goose Vodka (200 ml) start at $16.95, click HERE to shop!
Sugarfina x Casamigos
Two of my favourite things in life most definitely include chocolate and great tequila, like Casamigos. If you’re new to Casamigos, it’s a high quality (and extremely delicious) tequila that was created by none other than George Clooney and Rande Gerber (who is married to Supermodel, Cindy Crawford). Not only did Clooney and Gerber recently sell Casamigos for up to $1 billion dollars, but they recently launched a delectable collaboration with luxury sweets brand, Sugarfina. I got my hands on a box while visiting the eTalk x Sephora Canada lounge and these little chocolate balls are literally filled with a shot of tequila. You’re gonna wanna keep these away from the kids my friends. Casamigos x Sugarfina Chocolates retail for $10, click HERE to shop!
Sephora Charcoal Face Wipes
Charcoal is the trendiest ingredient of the moment and can be found in everything from ice cream to beauty products. Praised for its purifying and detoxifying properties, I was quick to pick out a pack of Sephora‘s Charcoal Exfoliating Wipes from their own house brand. These are great for lazy makeup removal after a long night (hello, TIFF life!), and especially for travelling. Sephora Collection Charcoal Exfoliating Wipes retail for $10, click HERE to shop!
L’Oreal Infallible Paints Metalics
L’Oreal Makeup is major sponsor of TIFF and not only did I have the incredible opportunity to attend their intimate Q&A event with the beautiful Julianne Moore, but they generously invited me to a screening of Woman Walks Ahead starring Jessica Chastain. At both events they had makeup on hand from their newest collections and I instantly fell in love with their COLOUR RICHE Matte Lipsticks (amazing colours and oh so creamy when applied!) as well as the new INFALLIBLE PAINTS Metallics lipgloss. They are currently running a contest that gives you the chance to WIN one of 100 ‘Ultra Glam Goodie Bags‘ with over $200 worth of L’Oreal Paris product. Click HERE to enter!
Buddha Brand Coconut Chips
Chips are a definite weakness of mine and Cocont Chips are a yummy alternative that I often rely on for a healthier alternative. If you have not tried Coconut Chips yet you seriously have not lived! I was so happy to see treats from Buddha Brand Company in the #BaskItStyle2017 gift bag and I would personally recommend trying the chocolate, classic and wasabi flavours as soon as you can. Hungry Buddha Coconut Chips retail for $2.79, click HERE to shop!
Thank you to all brands and sponsors for making my #TIFF17 so special!
