Breast Cancer Awareness Month is upon us and, among other things, that means brands are pulling out the pink in support of this worthy cause. Canadian beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands have already released a bunch of collabs that donate a portion of the proceeds to breast cancer research. We can’t think of a better reason to shop this month.
Every year, Rethink Breast Cancer teams up with a long list of partners to help us all support breast cancer research while shopping locally. The organization’s mission is to “empower young people worldwide who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer through innovative education, support and advocacy.” So, pull out your wallets because we’re sharing our favourite products to shop in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
Lohn
One of our favourite new local candle brands is stepping up their game this season with a limited-edition collab. In partnership with Rethink Breast Cancer, this hand-poured candle includes the sweet smells of pink grapefruit, palmarosa, cedarwood, patchouli and basil. But what we’re really swooning over is the bright pink coconut and soy wax blend. Twenty dollars from every Rise candle will go right to Rethink.
Silk Labs
In case you haven’t heard, hair care in the new self-care and we think you deserve some extra love. This precious pink comb is good for your hair, good for the environment and, of course, good for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Half of all profits from the comb go towards the worthy cause.
BikoÂ
Biko went above and beyond, creating an entire collection of rose gold jewellery that’s delicate enough to be worn every day. From earrings to pendants to bracelets, we can’t decide which one is our favourite, and with 20% of proceeds going to charity, we don’t have to!
Ellie Mae StudiosÂ
This Ellie Mae Studios collaboration is anything but basic. The 11-piece collection features cozy classics like the 1980s vintage pink sweater and show stoppers like the pink sequined Gemini blazer. The Toronto-based brand is giving 15% of proceeds from the collection to support Rethink’s mission, so it’s time to get shopping.Â
 Gee BeautyÂ
Joining forces with Rethink for its eighth year, Gee is offering the ultimate self-care kit with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. The kit includes a Gua Sha and Jade Roller to calm your skin, two of their best brow products to perfect your mask-friendly makeup routine, and a soothing lip balm to fight the cold weather that’s coming on strong.
Smythe
After making it onto the backs of some of the biggest celebrities in the world, Smythe has become a go-to brand for simple yet stylish suits. If you’re itching to splurge on a timeless piece for your wardrobe, the brand’s Duchess Blazer in Rethink Pink is the perfect way to support breast cancer research this month. The blush pink version of this best-selling jacket could be one of our favourite collabs yet with $50 from each purchase going to Rethink.
Courage Cookies
If you’re looking for a more delicious way to show your support, Courage Cookies will be donating 10% of all proceeds this month to Rethink Breast Cancer. You can check out their cookies for a cause at Stackt market or order them online.
Unika
We don’t care if summer’s over, we’re still shopping Unika’s ethically-made, size-inclusive swimwear. From flattering one-pieces to swimsuit-material masks, this collection has you covered. Shop their signature styles and 10% of your purchase will be donated to help support those affected by breast cancer.Â
GiftologieÂ
Giftology created a collection of affordable jewellery called Glad to Be Here, which is inspired by the founders’ friend Rachel Milan, a writer, wife and mother who is currently living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Rachel’s grace, courage and strength are showcased in this collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Our favourite is the dual-sided Strength Bar Necklace. All proceeds from this collection will go to Rethink.
Grin
Eager to get you that perfect smile, Grin is an eco-friendly toothbrush brand born right here in Canada. One dollar from each pink toothbrush sold will be donated to charity, so there’s never been a better time to step up your oral health.
Olive + Splash
If you don’t have a stylish set of reusable masks, it’s time to get one. Whether you’re hitting the grocery store, going for a walk or picking up some drug store essentials, everybody needs a comfortable, reusable and colourful mask. Olive + Splash released a Pink Pack of their bamboo masks in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Their masks are antibacterial, UV resistant and hypoallergenic.Â
STIL
2021 is just around the corner, which means it’s time for a brand new planner. For the month of October, STIL will be donating 10% of sales from its Nude Get It Done planner. Not only will this planner help you keep track of appointments, meetings and deadlines, it will also help with goal setting, ritual tracking and prioritizing. On top of all that, its minimal design and handy size make it the perfect accessory for a productive day.Â
