When it comes to makeup, I’m a pretty simple gal. On most days, a swipe of mascara and red lipstick are all I put on before running out the door to a meeting or event, but, the holidays are a time of year when I like to turn up the glam, especially in the makeup department.
Like my skincare products, I’m always on the hunt for the best makeup options that are as natural as possible, while still delivering results that last. Recently I was introduced to the botanical makeup range by Yves Rocher and was blown away by the performance of their products and their affordable price points, especially considering how committed the brand is to using natural and botanical ingredients.
Since I tend to get a little impatient when doing my own makeup (hence my incredibly simple daily makeup routine), I called upon my talented friend Deanne (an in-house makeup artist at Her Majesty’s Pleasure) to help me create 3 holiday makeup looks using the botanical makeup products from Yves Rocher.
See below for the looks we created and the products we used to create them!
Green With Envy
When to comes to just about anything in life, I’m all about the little details and I love a fine detail that you don’t always notice right away. This ‘Green with Envy’ makeup plays into that by replacing a classic cat eye in black with a delicious dark green using Yves Rocher’s Vertige Felt-tip Liner in Forest Green. If you’re looking to create more of a statement with your look (while still keeping things simple), I definitely recommend incorporating the Paradise Blue liner for an incredible pop of colour!
For the base of these looks we used Yves Rocher‘s paraben-free Youthful Glow Foundation (which features the smoothing power of Pearls wrapped in Rose Wax for the foundation’s unique texture) and the paraben-free Rayonnant Jeunesse Highlighter Duo (that contains jojoba seed oil) for a shimmery finish and golden glow. The beautiful rich colour of the lipstick is the Grand Rouge Lipstick Satiny in Shade 109.
It’s no secret that I looooove gold, especially during the holidays. If it’s not incorporated into my outfits somehow, you better believe I’ll find a way to incorporate it into my makeup look. This ‘Gold Flutter’ makeup look totally feeds my constant hunger for all-gold-everything, and I love the smokey eye that Deanne created using the gold and bronze shades from Yves Rocher’s Botanical Colour Eyeshadow Palette that features 10 shimmering soft-textured eyeshadows.
The products used for this look and the next are pretty much the same, and I love that with the Botanical colour Eyeshadow Palette you can create multiple different looks without having to keep track of individual eyeshadows in your makeup bag or beauty drawer.
Additional products used for this look include the Sexy Pulp Lash Plumping Mascara (that features a creamy texture enriched with Carnauba wax from a palm tree in Brazil), along with the Grand Rouge Lipstick Satiny in shade 118.
Ultra Violet has been announced as Pantone’s official colour of the year for 2018, so why not get a head start on the trend by incorporating it into your makeup look over the holidays? If violet eye shadow is a little too much a of beauty statement for you (as it is for me) my recommendation is to try wearing a plum-coloured eye shadow instead.
For this look we used the purple shades in the Botanical Colour Eyeshadow Palette to create the plum statement eye, and mixed shades 109 and 118 of the Grand Rouge Lipstick Satiny together to create a colour combination to compliment the eye.
