Are you always searching for fun fitness classes but don’t want to commit to just one studio? YUP, us too and that’s why we LOVE ClassPass–the app that allows you to sign up for individual classes at over 200 studios in Toronto (and way more across North America). Seriously though, who wants to get locked in to one place when you can experience them all?
ClassPass is basically the most flexible gym membership you’ll ever have and it’s perfect for anyone who loves to try new workouts all over their city, and even different cities when travelling. You simply buy a package of a certain amount of credits (ranges from $45-$105/month) and with those credits you sign up for classes you want to take.
Even though here at EditSeven we are super lucky to have the opportunity to get invited to try loads of workouts around the city, we still rely heavily on booking classes through ClassPass every week. Since we tend to book the same studios on the regular, we decided to share our top picks for the best fitness studios and classes that you can book on ClassPass in Toronto.
One of the most zen studios we’ve ever been to is 889 Community and believe us when we say this place has everything–a gorgeous light-filled space, an amazing boutique with all the wellness items you could ever want, and they offer yoga, pilates, barre, and meditation. What could be better? Plus you can’t beat the central location too, being just a quick walk from Rosedale station. We recommend their Flow + Meditate class for a heavenly stretch.
If it’s a strengthening full body workout you’re after, Studio Lagree is definitely a place you should check out. Their famous M3: Fusion class uses the Megaformer that combines strength, core, circuit training and stretching that results in an intense, shirt-drenching fitness experience. These classes are normally 9 credits (def worth it) but book ahead because they can climb up to 15 credits on the day of if the demand to get in is super high!
Toronto’s newest kick-ass boxing studio BOLO (aka BodyLove) is a spot we couldn’t love any more. Known for their signature Bolo Boxing class, that’s often taught by owner (and former competitive fighter) Caleigh Rykiss, you’ll learn boxing techniques through shadowboxing and using the bag with lots of body weight exercises. Get ready to sweat! Take note: these classes fill up quick especially on weekday evenings.
Looking for some mindful movement? MISFITSTUDIO has you covered with their unique blend of pilates, yoga and dance that all come together for one amazing workout! These pilates centred classes help you strengthen muscles in ways you never knew you could and, trust us, you’ll be feeling it the next day! We love MISFIT’s Reformer and Get Shifted classes but be sure to book ASAP because they fill up real quick. For more on MISFITSTUDIO, click HERE!
One of Toronto’s premier barre studios, Barreworks, is one of our go-tos when we’re looking for a class that does it all from toning, burning and challenging you with intensity. Our favourite class is GlideBarre that uses glider discs and delivers a wicked muscle-sculpting and calorie-burning workout! Keep your eyes peeled on ClassPass for Barreworks classes, we’ve scored some for just 3 credits.
If regular ol’ yoga or pilates just isn’t doing it for you anymore, you need to head on over to BeHot Yoga. We’re a sucker for a good sweat and trust us, you will with temps in the hot room hovering around 40° C. Our favourite class is their Hot HiiT Pilates that’s a wicked burner and you’ll leave feeling proud that you did it plus super drenched!
If you follow Edit Seven on Instagram (which you def should be!), you’ll know that we spin at Spinco at least once a week and for good reason: At Spinco, it’s all about riding together (one team, one bike) and we love riding to the beat of the music. We live for spins with Amanda Ritch on Friday mornings, and you may or may not be able to find us hanging out at Pantry for a coffee and breakfast right after!
