7 of Our Fave Restaurants in Toronto To Try During Summerlicious 2019

By Gracie Carroll

Summerlicious 2019 returns to the city of Toronto starting today (July 5th) and runs through to the 21st. We’re big fans of this bi-annual food festival that gives everyone the chance to try some of the city’s best restaurants at an affordable price with fixed price menus offered for both lunch and dinner. With nearly 200 restaurants participating, it can be overwhelming to figure out where to try, or where to fight for one of those coveted reservations (which are highly recommended during Summerlicious). With that in mind, we decided to share 7 of our favourite restaurants in Toronto that are participating with drool-worthy menus you’re not going to want to miss.

Keep reading for 7 of our fave restaurants in Toronto to try during Summerlicious 2019!

Amano Pasta

Who woulda thought that one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the city would be hiding in Union Station? We know, it sounds hard to believe, but it’s true. Amano Pasta is an absolute hidden gem in downtown’s Financial District but we are hardcore fans. This year, they’re offering a Summerlicious lunch menu for $23 and a dinner menu for $33. We recommended booking in for their dinner menu to order their incredible Arancini followed by the ravioli filled with whipped ricotta and finishing things off with their Panna Cotta. Cafe Boulud

Tucked inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto, we’ve always been big fans of Cafe Boulud for its modern take on French cuisine and, of course, the restaurant’s beautiful design. Should you find yourself in the Yorkville neighbourhood, we recommend stopping in for the $33 Summerlicious lunch menu that includes a refreshing Beetroot & Watermelon Salad, Chicken Roulade and Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake. Figo Toronto Summerlicious 2019

If you’re a fan of ‘sharing’ your meal (we mean on social media, of course) then we hope that the super stunning and natural-light filled Figo is on your radar. Within it’s breathtaking interior, Figo servers fresh Italian food, including wood-fired pizzas and from scratch pastas. This year their offering a lunch menu for $28 and dinner for $43 that both come with plenty of delicious options. We’d suggest going with a few friends so you can order it all! Lee Restaurant Toronto Summerlicious 2019

Although their infamous Singapore-style slaw sadly isn’t included in their Summerlicious menu, if Lee has been a restaurant you’ve been dying to try, now’s your chance. With a dinner only prix fixe menu priced at $53, you’ll be able to choose from dishes like Korean Style Shrimp & Octopus Fritters, Moroccan Wild Cod Tart and a White Chocolate & Mango Mousse Kataifi Nest. Maple Leaf Tavern

Hands down one of the best restaurants located on the east side of Toronto, the Maple Leaf Tavern is an elevated gastro pub located within an old building that dates back to 1910. This restaurant is one of our go-to destinations for Canadian comfort food done right, and we guarantee you won’t regret your visit, especially to try it out during Summerlicious. Click HERE to view their dinner menu priced at $43.

Miku Toronto Summerlicious 2019

Taking part in Summerlicious for the first time, Miku Toronto is easily the city’s best sushi restaurant and getting to indulge in their prix fixe lunch ($33) or dinner ($53) is genuine treat. Best known for their aburi (flame-seared) sushi, the Miku Toronto team has, thankfully, included their Signature Aburi Sushi Plate and Selection as options at either time of day. Has the summer heat got you in the mood for more seafood than meat? If so, consider visiting one of our favourite restaurants on Dundas West, Ufficio, that serves an eclectic pescatarian menu. This restaurant is beautifully designed but boutique in size, so we would definitely recommend booking in for a reservation before you decide to head over. Click HERE to view their lunch ($28) and dinner ($43) menus.
