Being from Vancouver, I love to shine the spotlight on my hometown as much as I can, but I often can’t help but feel like my beloved city gets overlooked by the rest of the country when it comes to Vancouver fashion brands. This is simply unacceptable, especially because there are so many cool, up-and-coming and established brands hailing from Vancity that need to be known from coast-to-coast! From #girlboss inspired loungewear to functional bags and even funky shoes, here I’m sharing 7 of my favourite fashion brands from Vancouver that are just the tipping off point of what this city’s fashion scene has to offer.

The Vancity Original Brand was established in 1998 by Mister Martini, a local Vancouver legend and one to know . Martini also owns the streetwear retail store, Dipt and it is hands down one of the most popular urban boutiques in Vancouver. I love wearing all my Vancity Original gear in Toronto to rep my hometown!
Known for making some of the coolest westcoast inspired bags with high end details is Taiken with their line of timeless, sensible and functional designs and seriously, you’ll want EVERYTHING! From their gorgeous suede duffels to their chic backpacks, this Vancouver-based brand needs to be on your radar.
I’m known to love athletic clothing and Vancouver is the leader in Canadian athletic brands. Speaking of which, Karma Athletics has been offering stylish yet fashion forward basics for years and has a flagship store in Gastown. This Made-in-Canada brand will empower you to look, feel and do good with their insane selection of activewear for yoga, running, general fitness and everyday wear!
Left On Friday
The newest of all brands on my must-have Vancouver hit-list is Left On Friday with their small but mighty assortment of swim styles. Their Italian-made “smoothing dream fabric” is oh so flattering and results in a high end look at an affordable price point. This is definitely one to check out before your next beach trip!
Since appearing on Project Runway Canada, Carlie Wong has been killing it on the Vancity scene. She is one of my favourite high-end Canadian fashion designers and she knows how to flatter the female form like no other. If you’re in town and need a red carpet gown, she should be your first to call!
Brunette The Label
Athleisure with style is my jam. Brunette The Label’s mission is to uplift all babes all day, EVERYDAY. Founded in 2014, they make the softest sweats and tees with female-focused empowering messages. Their flagship store in Chinatown is a Vancouver must for the boss babe in all of us!
Established in 2009, Native Shoes are just so perfect for casual-cool dressing especially if you are going in and out of the water. Their styles are so lightweight and functional for pretty much anywhere your day will take you. Known for being Beast Free, meaning no hair or hide of any animal has been used, Native is PETA certified as an approved vegan brand!
