Fitness fanatic or not, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about SoulCycle before — the trendy, extra sweaty spinning workout with a cult-like following that includes everyone from Supermodel Molly Sims to her Highness, Beyonce.
Although there were rumours floating around that the U.S.-based SoulCycle was never coming to Canada, it was only a few short months ago (March 2017, to be exact) that the company made its first-ever international debut, choosing to open a studio in our very own downtown core of Toronto.
The first studio — located on the corner of King Street West and Spadina — was quick to take our city by storm, and its success has inevitably helped lead to the opening of their second Toronto location, SoulCycle Yorkville inside Yorkville Village only a few short months later.
Located right next to the beloved Equinox Yorkville on Avenue Road, #TeamGC had the opportunity to be one of the first to experience a class at the new studio thanks to an invite from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. The high-intensity cardio class (that’s excellent for getting your heart pumping) was in celebration of the launch of Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada‘s new ‘Charity by Design‘ partnership with ALEX AND ANI. Together, they’ve created the exclusive ‘Wings of Change‘ charm bracelet that can be purchased at the SoulCycle Yorkville location.
So what was the SoulCycle class itself really like? Ty, our instructor (and one of SoulCycle Toronto’s most popular teachers) took us to #Tyland and back for the spin class of a lifetime that’s like no spin class we’ve ever done before. With dark lighting, booming music and Ty pushing us through with words of encouragement and empowerment, it felt like the perfect setting for the launch of the Wings of Change charm bracelet that’s engraved with the words ‘Resilient‘ and ‘Transformation‘.
The newest SoulCycle studio itself is serious #goals with its bright and sunny interior, friendly staff (who are ready to help in case you’re a SoulCycle newbie) and a bathroom filled with all your post-spin necessities including a full range of luxury skincare products by Omorovicza.
For those who may not know, ALEX AND ANI isn’t just a jewelry company, they’re a humanitarian company that believes in giving back to the community. So far, they’ve partnered with 55 nonprofit organizations, donating over 44 million dollars around the world. Proceeds from each piece in the ‘Charity By Design‘ collection go towards supporting their numerous global nonprofit partners and their positive aid.
The new Wings of Change charm bracelet benefiting The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is adorned with butterflies, Swarovski crystals, and the words ‘faith,’ ‘resilient,’ and ‘transformation,’. It’s a simple accessory with a big message, click HERE to shop the collection online.
