All The Essentials You Need For Your Coziest Fall Ever

By Blair Stutz

Now that we’ve officially entered October, it’s time to actually start preparing for fall other than sipping on the occasional pumpkin spiced latte. Fall is all about being cozy and settling down after a wild summer — even though this summer most likely wasn’t what we all had planned. Seeing as we’re likely going to be spending more time at home again, it makes sense that we want ours to be as comfortable and cozy as possible and who doesn’t want that? If you’re looking to give your haven a little fall upgrade, then keep on reading for how to take cozy season to the next level!

Here are all of these essentials you need for your coziest fall ever!

Scented Candles

Scented candles are great anytime of the year but somehow once fall rolls around, we start lighting them more and more. Of course, you can find candles with any scent under the sun but when autumn rolls around, we like to reach for warmer scents. A fab option is Le Labo’s Santal 26 candle that’s got notes of amber, sandalwood, vanilla, and musk. If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, this Mulled Cider and Cinnamon candle from Indigo has hints of brown sugar while Malin + Goetz’s Tobacco candle is rich and comforting.

Hydrating Skincare

As the weather turns, we need to update our skincare and that means adding in more hydrating products. Think thicker night creams, body lotions, and even day creams that will give our skin a boost of moisture but also protect it from the elements. The new GOOPGENES Nourishing Repair Body Butter is a luxe body cream that works to repair dry skin as well as improve the skin’s tone and elasticity. Looking for something that’s perfect for daytime? Enter Tata Harper’s Water-Lock Moisturizer that’s formulated with ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid as well as orange blossom peptides that support the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Don’t forget about night cream! Dermalogica’s Intensive Moisture Balance Moisturizer is honestly perfect as it hydrates (duh!), but it also has lactic acid that gently exfoliates and aloe vera that soothes the skin all while you catch your zzz’s!

Warm Sweaters

What’s sweater weather without a few new sweaters? This year, we’re giving you full permission to treat yourselves on some quality cozies. This one from the upcoming Uniqlo x JW Anderson collab is affordable but timeless and chic. Looking to splurge? This G. Label Cardigan couldn’t better for WFH days or even done up with jeans for errands. Another fab option is Club Monaco’s Quarter Zip Pullover that has an oversize fit so it’s comfy AF but definitely still polished & stylish.

Fuzzy Slippers

If you thought you had to have the first name Nana to wear slippers, think again! These days, slippers are so much cuter than ones of the past and trust us – you’ll even be tempted to wear these outside the house! Sorel’s Mail Run Slippers come in a variety of colours and have plush faux-fur for even extra style. One of the OG in the slipper world is these cozy ones by UGG. With shearling all inside, you’ll feel like you’re walking on a cloud. If you’re not a fan of slippers, why not slip into a pair of warm socks instead? These socks from Hunter Boots are made to wear inside the brand’s Chelsea boots but we think they’d be great for lounging at home, too.

Comforting Cookbooks

Over here at #TeamE7, we live fall cookbooks so if we’re spending more time at home, you’d better believe we’re spending it doing ALL the cooking. A few of the ones on our list are Ina Garten’s Modern Comfort Food that’s all about updated comfort food that makes you feel happy. If you’re looking for some top-quality home cooking, you can’t go wrong with Matty Matheson’s new cookbook that’s filled with approachable homestyle recipes. Got baking on the brain? Bon Appetit test kitchen alum Claire Saffitz’s debut cookbook is all about desserts and we can’t wait to bake the whole book.

At-Home Spa

Whether you have a teeny tiny bathroom or a huge sprawled out one, you can create your own at-home spa no matter the size. All you need is some fresh eucalyptus from Pictus Goods to hang on your shower head that releases its natural oils with the steam of the shower. Another fab addition to your at-home spa is a quality bubble bath to use when you really need some extra TLC. Philosophy’s Vanilla Bean Shower Gel & Bubble Bath with its sweet smell is exactly what you need after a long day. Still need some balance? Clear the air with some palo santo that’s known for its healing, cleansing, and purifying properties.
