Jeepers! I’m sneaking in this April Localist post riiiiight before the first day of May. Why so late? Because let me tell you a little something about what it’s like to get up the middle of the night for a live TV segment: It’s HARD. The reality of a 6am live segment on air means I have to get there at least an hour before to prep, which means I wake up sometime around the ungodly hour of 3am. Trust me, when you’re more likely to go to bed in the wee hours of the morning rather than wake up at that time, it can really do a number on your body. So! That means that over the past few days since my segment on Thursday morning I’ve felt more ‘jet lagged’ than when I returned home from Europe. But still, here we are and I’ve still got a good 4 hours and 15 minutes to feel good about putting this post together and pushing it live in the same month as the segment. In case you missed the latest FLARE Localist segment on BT Toronto live, here’s what’s new in TO that you don’t want to miss out on!

The KOTN Shop Queen West
We featured KOTN back in 2015 when the brand first launched. They have been online only up until last month when they opened their first brick and mortar flagship store on Queen West in Toronto! The brand is now mainly focused on menswear t-shirts, although they’ve currenlty got some super cute baby items and home wares at the new shop. For more info please visit the website HERE.
Henkaa x New Circles
Henkaa is a Canadian brand I often recommend to people when looking for affordable and Canadian-made dress options, and especially when looking for bridesmaids dresses. They’re known for their convertible dresses that can be transformed to be worn in different ways, and are available in every colour of the rainbow. They have teamed up with a charity I love called New Circles to support their Prom Boutique by hosting a drop off location at their shop near Yorkdale along with offering $15 off your next purchase when donations are dropped off. To learn more about how you can donate any extra clothing, shoes or accessories you have please click HERE.
Leeloodles x Tonic Blooms
My little Leeloo of Leeloodles has teamed up with Tonic Blooms to design an exclusive Tonic Blooms bouquet called ‘The Leeloo’, featuring roses, tulips veronicas and wax flowers, which Leeloo also illustrated to feature on a limited edition tote bag. The bouquet + tote bag is $67 with 10% of proceeds benefitting Nova’s Ark’s community programs (Leeloo’s charity of choice). To order yours now, click HERE.
