Oh, love is in the air, indeed! The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the wind is blowing just right to give couples an excuse to cuddle. February is filled with love and celebration — from Lunar New Year to Valentine’s Day! And because it’s the month of love, here are seven things (and events) we’re loving this February!
Exclusive Valentine’s Weekend Menu from Chotto Matte
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, and the recent announcement that we can once again dine indoors, Chotto Matte announced its exclusive menu offerings available from February 12 to 14.
The Valentine’s Day menu includes three limited-edition dishes: aphrodisiac-inspired Nikkei Oysters; O-Toro Tartar with green papaya, pomegranate, and wasabi soy; and Matcha-Mango Cheesecake Mousse, infused with sensual flavours of yuzu and sesame, for dessert.
In true Chotto fashion, the restaurant prepared duo dance and emotional performances, inspired by the love dances performed by the wild birds of the rainforest. Performers will even be outfitted with fantastical, feathery outfits to charm guests late into the evening.
Visit Chotto Matte Toronto for more info and to book your table!
Afternoon Tea at Holts Cafe
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Holts Café is offering Afternoon Tea takeout options from both Bloor Street and Yorkdale locations until February 7. Each location has built a menu that matches both sweet and savoury elements of Asian flavours. For $55 per person, enjoy sweet and savoury combinations of pecking duck and cucumber tea sandwiches, saffron and golden sultana scones, and traditional egg tart, paired with female-owned brand Sloane Fine Tea.
Check out the menu in advance here, and make sure to give a 24-hour notice in advance for takeout orders and reservations.
Zero Dollar Frames
Everyone loves a good deal. And what better deal there is than zero-dollar frames? Looking to add a new pair of glasses to your wardrobe? Or, perhaps you’ve always wanted to give blue light lenses a try? Well, eyewear shop Clearly is giving an amazing deal where select frames are priced at $0 on Valentine’s Day only!

Candlelit Dinner with FIOL Rosé
Enjoy a candle-lit Valentine’s dinner with your S.O., and don’t forget to pair whatever dish you’re having with a bottle of rosé for that romantic touch. With its coral shade with subtle pink reflections, it’s the perfect visual on your dinner table this Valentine’s Day. Enjoy the fruity aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry with hints of citrus and white flowers on a romantic night with your loved one.

Away
The Everywhere Bag ($195); The Zip Backpack ($195); Insider Packing Cubes ($65); The Carry-On: Aluminum Edition ($525)
Planning a romantic Valentine weekend getaway? Then, if you’re going away, better do it with style and function! Premium luggage brand Away is on our radar because its suitcases and bags are made with the same top quality materials as other top-selling luggage brands’ but at a much lower cost. Away’s products are designed with thought and solves real travel problems with tis resilient and high-quality premium materials. We also love that this brand is sustainable and only works with suppliers who have processes that cut back on waste.
Melanie Auld Jewelry
When did Valentine’s Day equate to giving your S.O. some bling-bling? I’m not complaining though, just wondering. Anyway, if you’re thinking of gifting your S.O. fine (or demi-fine) jewelry this love month, Melanie Auld Jewelry has our seal of approval! With jewelry available for both men and women, you can pick a selection of pieces your S.O. can layer and style. (For all my singles out there, you don’t need someone else to give it to you. Be your own Valentine, and treat yourself to some fine a$h jewelry!)
KORA Organics Berry Bright Vitamin C Eye Cream
It must be said that we love anything from KORA Organics. Targeting signs of aging, dark circles, dry lines, and wrinkles, this eye cream contains a 5.5 percent active Vitamin C blend. With the brand being known for using natural ingredients, the Berry Bright eye cream is rich in natural antioxidants. For instance, kangaroo paw flower, which reduces fine lines; Kakadu plum, which energizes and boosts skin’s radiance; and cloudberry, which soothes, moisturizes, and brightens skin. Have we mentioned how much we love that pink packaging (which is refillable, BTW!)? Totally in tune with the month of love!
