all star gala

If you’ve been following along as of late, you’ll have noticed the recent giveaway I hosted to help raise awareness for one of my favourite annual charity events, Scrubs in the City, in support of SickKids. Some of you may wonder why I would host another giveaway for a charity event for SickKids so close together, and that’s because supporting SickKids really, truly, is very important to me, and close to my heart. Unfortunately my family spent at lot of time at SickKids while my baby cousin was sick with cancer many years ago. While I won’t go into the details of our personal experience, it is very important to me to shed light on supporting such and important cause as much as possible.

On June 26th, Toronto’s inaugural All-Star Gala in support of SickKids is set to take place at the Arcadian Court and promises to unite pro athletes, celebrities and young professionals for a glamorous night of philanthropy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but if you can have a great time in support of an incredible charity, why wouldn’t you? Most often it’s on a night when you would be going out anyway, and tickets are generally in the range of the amount you might spend on a typical night out on the town in downtown Toronto.

With tickets available for just $125, this year’s event will be presented by West of Contra, hosted by TSN’s Cabral Richards, and feature performances by Canadian artists including Juno Award Nominee Glenn Morrison and Aion Clarke. The first annual All-Star Gala in Support of SickKids will see 1200 young professionals, pro athletes and celebrities unite to raise $150,000 for SickKids Foundation in one night. Sounds fun, doesn’t it?

And it gets better! The glamorous semi-formal night of philanthropy not only features mingling with past and present pro athletes from the NHL, NBA, CFL, MLS and MLB, but an open bar all night with create-your-own cocktail stations and pulp-and-press juice station by Tito’s, and a luxury silent auction and raffles.
Just like the with Scrubs in the City, the new All-Star Gala for SickKids is dedicated to raising funds to help purchase a much-needed new cardiac MRI machine for the hospital. So are you ready to help support SickKids or what? Click HERE to purchase tickets now, and keep reading to find out how you can enter to WIN two tickets to attend the gala with a guest!

  1. In 2012, I donated my phone to a lady from the Philippines whose son was being treated at SickKids. She texted her gratitude to me for the phone as I’d activated a SIM with a prepaid card, new headset and battery. The pastor of a local church told me she could use my cell phone when I offered to give it to whoever would benefit from it. He told me his church was supporting this family as they were given the treatment for their son for free but, were limited in other areas as medical visitors to the city. I realized SickKids has helped families beyond Canada and how significant they are in the lives of recipients of medical care. It is financially impossible for these families had it not been for the provision of free treatment. The All-Star Gala in Support of SickKids is an important event that gives hope to more families seeking medical treatment for their children via raising $150,000 for SickKids Foundation.

  2. Entered! How exciting! And for such a great cause 🙂 my cousin had heart problems when he was born and Sick Kids took amazing care of him!

  3. This would be such an amazing experience, I’d really love to go! I love the great cause behind charity events and my mom from working at Sick Kids told me so many great stories about the kind of people she had met 🙂

  4. This would be AMAZING! I was once a Sick Kids kid, and would love to go to this event! One day I hope I can help out on my own!

  5. I would LOVE to go to this sick kids gala as I think it would be a great learning opportunity 😉 I know very little about the NHL, NBA and pretty much every other major league sports team. During the fall/winter, my job requires me to be at the ACC for pretty much every home game played by the leafs and raptors and i still KNOW NOTHING!!!! Maybe attaching a face to the name would help!?

Luckily, I know lots about how awesome Sick Kids is and I can recite random facts about venereal diseases, so I would be good to go!

    Thanks Gracie!!

Still following u on insta and twitter as @melzzzzzzzzz

  6. I’ve always wanted to attend. Sports athletes, dressing up, drinking, raffles, and silent auctions ?!?! That’s like the perfect night out.

  7. This sounds like an All Star night–would be a dream come true to attend brush some elbows with some sports stars and support Sick Kids!

  8. SickKids is such an important institution and a much-needed resource in the city and I would love to attend the All-Star Gala and support this worthwhile cause. Also, you had me at create-your-own cocktail stations! Thanks for the chance, Gracie!
