Here’s How You Can Celebrate and Support Black Foodie Week In Toronto

By Gracie Carroll

Toronto is one of the best cities on the planet to discover foods from every corner of the world in one place, and if you’re interested in deep-diving into the Black food culture scene in Toronto, and (most importantly) how to support it, we want to make sure BLACK FOODIE WEEK is on your radar.

Created by @EdenTheFoodie, the talented HomeCook, host, influencer and Black food advocate behind the site, BLACK FOODIE, the first annual BLACK FOODIE Week is a digital celebration of Black food culture in Toronto.

The week-long event is on now from September 20th to 27th, 2020 and is available online and through the GTA via online events that include incredible talks and cook-alongs with some of the city’s best Black chefs, and a user-friendly map to help you find the best Black-owned restaurants near you to order from or visit in person.

Keep reading for some of the tasty ways you can take part in BLACK FOODIE Week!

How can traditional Afro-Caribbean dishes be modified in favour of sustainability? What does it take for Black restaurants to thrive in Toronto?
