Considering how often I travel, it’s really rather surprising to me that I haven’t yet made it over to Australia. I remember that my interest in visiting was first ignited back when I got my hands on an issue of RUSSH magazine for the first time (it was many years ago) and quickly became totally obsessed with all things Aussie– especially when it came to fashion. I even worked at the only Canadian retail location of an Australian clothing brand back when I was in university!
Australia isn’t only about amazing landscapes, incredible surfing and cute koalas, it also has an amazing fashion and design culture. I’ve always admired how supportive the country is of their own homegrown talent, which has helped foster the growth of now globally successful brands such as Sass & Bide, Finders Keepers, Ksubi Jeans, Zimmerman and many more. I hope that one day Canada can say that it’s done the same for its own.
If you, like me, have always been interested in visiting Australia and are ready to learn more, there’s a one-day-only pop-up event happening in Toronto this week that you don’t want to miss! See below for more details.
The Event: Australia In Toronto
Australia is popping up in Toronto on May 4th (from 11 AM – 9 PM) for a one-day special event featuring virtual reality and photography exhibit preview in downtown Toronto at Artscape Sandbox (301 Adelaide St. West).
Torontonians will be invited to go on a virtual tour of Australia where they can experience Australia’s nature, coastal and food and wine wonders, meet travel experts and enjoy a photography exhibit, featuring Australia through the eyes of Canadian travellers. We will showcase the lesser known areas of Australia that Canadians didn’t know they wanted to see, through the eyes of fellow Canadians!
Guests will also have the chance to WIN a pair of Air Canada round trip tickets to Australia.
Sounds cool, doesn’t it?
Be sure to visit from 11-6pm to discover all things Aussie during their Flat White Coffee Service, or from 6-9pm for the Australian Wine Tasting (19+).
See you there!
