By now it’s no surprise how much I love to cook, eat, and feed my friends and family, which is why it’s devastating to think about how many families across Canada (and around the world) that don’t have access to the meals they need. In the words of Joey Adler, Founder and Chair of ONEXONE, “There is no reason why hunger should exist, and ONEXONE is inviting everyone to take a stand and help make a difference by joining the movement to end hunger.”

Joining the movement isn’t as intimidating as it may seem, in fact, on Friday May 23rd, you can turn your fun Friday night out in downtown Toronto into one that supports an amazing cause. The inaugural Million Meals Movement will be taking place at The Sony Centre for the Performing Arts and will be featuring live performances by Simple Plan, MAGIC!, Alyssa Reid and Kardinal Offishall.

With tickets starting at $49.50, the proceeds from this year’s event will be benefitting the ONEXONE and Simple Plan Foundations, and kicking off the community-based initiative and journey of eventually packing one million meals for children in need across North America.

I am so excited to take part in this incredible initiative. I will personally be taking part in packing lunches alongside the ONEXONE team on the afternoon of May 23rd, before heading to the main event in  the evening.

Please join me in taking part in this amazing, and incredibly important movement. Most of us are lucky enough to have never known what it means to be truly hungry. Let’s join together to erase hunger, and bring one million meals to those in need across North America!
