It’s that time of year again, the One of A Kind Show returns to Toronto for their Spring 2016 show from March 23 to 27th! This show is always one of my favourites to attend for shopping and discovering amazing new local brands and artisans from all over the country to find the best in Canadian Handmade products. From skincare to food, I always find something new that I love and it’s so fantastic to get to meet the people behind the brand in person right there at the show.
Like most years, I have once again teamed up with team OOAK to offer a free pair of tickets to the One of A Kind Show Spring 2016 Toronto to 10 lucky readers! Take a look at a five of the brands I would suggest checking out at this year’s show and find out how to WIN below!
1. The Crazy Plate Lady & 2. Dolorous Jewelry
Two of my favourite Toronto-based brands (that you may already know from The Chic Canuck) are The Crazy Plate Lady and Dolorous Jewelry. Jacqueline Poirier is the talented artist behind the well-known The Crazy Plate Lady instagram account, and creates amazing hand-painted imagery on, well, plates that she likes to call PLART.
I’ve been a long-time fan of Dolorous Jewelry‘s designer Danielle Singer, and she was one of the first people I approached about The Chic Canuck back when it was still in the very early stages of development. She is best known for her amazing hand-made brass body chains, but you should also look out for her colourful stone necklaces that I love!
3. Coal & Canary
Always a sucker for a nice candles, one of my top picks this year are the luxe hand-poured soy blend candles by Coal & Canary. If these are good enough to make it into Grammy and Academy Award swag, there definitely good enough for us!
4. Flower Pot Designs
Sure, you may not neeeeed a knit cactus in your life, but how could you not want one? I used to have one of these at my office desk and is always made me smile, even on a stressful day! Along with the succulent designs, Flower Pot also knits baby shoes, mittens and more. Check out their Etsy Shop HERE.
5. Wilk Watchworks
Handmade watches aren’t exactly the first thing that come to mind when you think of Toronto-made products, and I was amazed to discover just that from Wilk Watchworks. Considering that most of the watches are customizable. I can’t think if a better gift to a loved one, or even a gift for yourself.
