The countdown to 2020 is on, and the party stakes are high. Yes, we are entering an exciting new decade, however, if your plans include sitting on your couch in your PJs, we totally respect that too. In case you are planning to leave your house on New Year’s Eve (perhaps even in some PJs covered up with a luxe coat a la Carrie Bradshaw), we’ve put together some options for celebrating NYE 2020 in Toronto that top our list. From low key to dinners to over-the-top parties, keep reading for where we suggest ringing in the new year!
Chotto Matte Toronto
With locations in London and Miami, Chotto Matte‘s new Toronto location certainly doesn’t disappoint. Based in the city’s Financial District, the Japanese-Peruvian restaurant invites you to take part in their futuristic NYE party, Dystropolis. Dance to beats by DJ Bambii while enjoying their Nikkei cocktails, bottomless prosecco and canapes while intergalactic acrobats entertain you. Tickets are $75 and more details can be found HERE.
Looking for a low key option that doesn’t involve staying in your living room, or someone else’s? This year the Drake Commissary is offering a no fuss, no reservations (and no cover) night on NYE with a live band that promises to be a perfect option for families or people who ‘want a more low maintenance night out’ on the last day of 2019. Click HERE for more info and reservations, along with NYE details for all Drake properties!
If enjoying an epic meal that you’ll remember forever is how you want to spend your NYE, we certainly wouldn’t blame you! Our suggestion? Ring in the new year with Miku Toronto‘s New Year’s Eve Kaiseki. This exclusive dinner menu is only available on December 31st and features an assortment of Miku’s signature sushi and sashimi selections, as well as two stand-out savoury dishes: Wagyu beef wellington and Atlantic lobster. The dinner is priced at $150 per guest with the option to add a sake pairing for $50. Click HERE to book your reservation.
Future Glam Gladstone Hotel
The Gladstone Hotel is throwing a future-glam party to celebrate the start of a new decade. Sit down early for a delicious Prix Fixe dinner by Chef Akshay Shastry or dance the night away in your best futuristic lewk while enjoying an immersive experience inside the legendary Queen West hotel. Click HERE for more info and tickets.
Love Child Social House
If your vision of ringing in the new decade includes a 20s themed party (a la Great Gatsby) then you’re in luck! Located in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, Love Child Social House will be hosting an electric “Roaring 20’s” themed bash for NYE 2020. Flapper and Prohibition-era attire is encourage and forma, cocktail dress is required for this luxe party. Tickets are $50 per person and include a champagne toast and party favours. Click HERE for more info.
If ringing in the New Year in a tropical setting is what you had hoped you would be doing (but didn’t make happen IRL), then consider celebrating at vegan Mexican restaurant, Rosalinda. The plant-filled oasis will have you feeling like you’re in a far more tropical setting than Toronto, and you’ll be able to enjoy fresh food and their tropical cocktails all night long.
NYE Yin Yoga
In case you’re looking to do something outside of your home that has nothing to do with eating or drinking, consider the NYE Yin Yoga and guided yoga nidra meditation at Beaches Hot Yoga. We can’t think of a more mindful and peaceful way to welcome to the new decade. Tickets are $49 + tax, click HERE for more info.
Happy New Year!
