Hello weekend, you’ve finally arrived. As always, we’ve got recommendations for everything from where to eat and where to shop. We promise, this weekend won’t disappoint!

WHERE TO EAT:

thompson-diner

After five years with the same menu, the Thompson Diner has finally revamped their food offerings and baby, it’s good. If you’re a die hard fan of their classic diner offerings, have no fear, their greasy spoon goodies are still available with the addition of healthier options to please a wider variety of patrons. Our favourite dishes from the new menu include the Turkish Lamb, Charred Snap Peas, Green Brown Rice Bowl and Nashville Chicken. We’re also loving the availability of Greenhouse Juice Co. and sweet treats from Wanda’s Pie in the Sky and Carole’s Cheesecake!

WHERE TO SHOP:

Looking for the deal of the season? BAY DAYS is back so don’t miss your chance to score up to 50% on everything from shoes to appliances via Hudson’s Bay stores or online. #TeamE7 is eyeing all the Le Creuset and Staub products that are currently marked down and oh-so tempting.

WHAT TO DO:

Happy Record Store Day 2018! If you’re in Toronto and looking to support your local vinyl shop, don’t miss our guide to what’s happening at some of the city’s best record stores. From early openings, exclusive releases, live bands and even and after party, there’s no shortage of musical fun happening today.

WHAT TO TRY:

One of our favourite local and Canadian-made soap companies, The Perth Soap Co., has just launched their newest product: the cleansing oil. Their new oil-based alternative to the standard body wash is available in all all of their best-selling scents and we’re totally hooked.

WHAT TO SEE:

Rachel Burns Photography

If a bit of visual stimulation and gallery hopping is on your wish list this weekend, drop by the opening of the photographer Rachel Burns’ opening of her first solo exhibition, Until Now, at General Hardware Contemporary in Parkdale. Part of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, you can join the opening festivities at the gallery from 2-5pm on Saturday April 21st.

WHAT TO KNOW:

Although it’s not happening this weekend, we wanted to share the news that MICHI (our favourite fitness apparel brand!) will be popping up at TNT in Yorkville Village this Thursday April 26th until April 29th. If you’ve been looking to spruce up your spring altheisure gear, this is most definitely your chance to do it!

Happy Weekend!
