In need of a little getaway this fall? Fellow Torontonians, it’s time to treat yo’self to a food-and-wine-filled mini vaca and visit the insta-worthy Prince Edward County, especially during #Countylicious 2017. Similar to Winter and Summerlicious here in the city, this year 14 great restaurants in Prince Edward County will be taking part in the second annual dining event. What does this mean? You can experience a three-course dinner for just $40 per person at each participating restaurant from November 3rd to 26th, 2017.
Thanks to our incredible friends at the Drake Devonshire, #TeamGC was invited to get a sneak preview of Countylicious in the lead up to the event, and trust us when we say you don’t want to miss out. Countylicious is a celebration of all the local farmers, fishers, winemakers, brewers, beekeepers, bakers, picklers and producers who work to to bring us local food and the amazing PEC wine *insert heart eye emoji here*.
Not only is the PEC area incredibly picturesque during the fall season, but the wonderful entrepreneurial spirit of the areas residents is totally infectious. If you’ve been meaning to check out the area, now is the time to do it. The area is calm, pretty, welcoming, and, best of all, full of delicious local food and wine created by its own residents. The diverse selection of rustic style dishes at Agrarian take full advantage of the wonderful produce PEC has to offer, bringing the best from the farm, dairy, bakery and winery right to your table! Their Countylicious menu is no exception with offerings like Citrus and Gin Cured Trout Gravlax and Ling Cod with Turnips and Roasted Leek Bisque.
AMELIA’S GARDEN AT THE WARING HOUSE
Seasonal dining at its best is Amelia’s Garden, with many ingredients supplied by local food producers who work tirelessly to give you a taste of what Prince Edward County has to offer. Their Countylicious menu features dishes like Chicken and Mushroom Fricassee and Parsnip Soup with Proscuitto and Smoked Honey Drizzle!

CLARA’S AT THE CLARAMOUNT INN
Serving up the best of seasonal, regional food in a relaxed, elegant atmosphere is Clara’s. With stunning views of the Claramount’s expansive grounds and of Picton Bay, dining at Clara’s is an experience of it’s own! Their Countylicious menu is a divine selection of dishes such as Sweet Soya Braised Pork Belly and Lamb Pappardelle with Sage and Fresh Peas!
Showcasing seasonal, fresh, homemade delights is The Courage who proudly supports the best of the County’s wineries, breweries & distilleries. Their Countylicious menu has them serving up cozy classics like Pulled Pork with Spatzle and Seared Apples and Northern Gumbo with Seared Okra in a Creole Onion Consommé.

Toronto’s ledgendary Drake Hotel’s PEC spot, Drake Devonshire, is quite honestly the most #goals place we’ve ever stayed at as it’s the perfect blend of glam and cottage vibes! The food scene at The Dev highlights local producers and the talents of their chefs and their Countylicious menu showcases dishes like Braised Beef Sheppard’s Pie and Trout with Marinated Bean Salad and Beurre Noisette. #LIT
EAST & MAIN BISTRO
Comfortable and casual, East & Main Bistro features elevated classic fare made from locally sourced ingredients and their Countylicious menu is no exception. Offering dishes like Chicken Liver Mousse with Bacon Noir Jelly and County Ale Braised Lamb Shank with Olive and Caper Demi, these luxury classics are perfect for a fall evening!

Their Countylicious menu puts a focus on farm-t0-table with dishes like Roots & Bulbs, a roasted and smoked butternut squash with sous-vide beets and Crispy Braised Lamb with Fennel Puree!
Boasting a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, Hartley’s Tavern offers a diverse menu with dishes that perfectly compliment the PEC lifestyle. You def need to dig into their Countylicious menu for eats like Seared Duck Breast with Sweet Potato Gnocchi and Candied Ginger Cranberry Sauce and Robby’s Perch with Confit Shallot and Bitter Greens.

They offer a warm atmosphere and friendly staff and with something for everyone, their Countylicious menu is sure to please the whole fam. Stop in and try their Hand Made Cavatelli with Lobster Bisque and Duck Porchette for Two!
The Merrill Inn prides itself on offering County inspired cuisine with a strong focus on locally sourced products. Their Countylicious menu is truly artisan menu utilizing the freshest ingredients from the County with dishes like Hanger Steak with Rösti Potato and Cornish Hen with Cumin Scented Cauliflower.

In a casual and home-y environment, Pomodoro specializes in an Italian influenced style but still stays true to their PEC roots. Head on over during Countylicious to sample their menu featuring Pan Seared Gnocchi with Beurre Noisette and Pancetta and Hot Italian Sausage Spiedini with Fried Garlic Stuffed Olives!
Serving up cozy food in a warm and energetic environment is Portabella serving up classics with a twist! Don’t miss out on their Countylicious menu with dishes like Local Chicken Breast with a Pecan Crust and Grilled Atlantic Salmon with a Vermouth Spinach Sauce.

Located in an 1870 schoolhouse, Public House at Jackson’s Falls is warm and personal and the food is home-cooked, fresh, hearty and delicious. We can totally attest to that after sampling their Countylicious menu with dishes like Quinoa and Wild Rice Stuffed Butternut Squash and Lamb Liver Mousse with Cranberry Chutney.
SOUP OPERA MARKET BISTRO
Preparing and serving a range of inspired seasonal dishes for lunch and dinner, as well as prepared items in their market, Soup Opera Market Bistrot features a menu chalk full of faves with local flair! Their Countylicious menu stays true to that with offerings like Porc Tenderloin Medallions with Forest Mushroom Medley and Magret de Canard with Acorn Squash Puree and Braised Red Cabbage.

Over the 4-week promotion, each restaurant will randomly select a pair of lucky diners who will be treated to their Countylicious dinner-for-two, on the house (excluding beverages and gratuity). All you have to do is dine on a weeknight – Sunday though Thursday at a participating Countylicious restaurant.
