In my opinion, January is a month that should be entirely dedicated to resting, relaxing and recharging. Fortunately, the universe seems to agree with me (and to be listening) because so far this year has kicked off with some incredible pampering opportunities that I feel very fortunate to be a part of. Most notably, I was invited by French skincare brand, Caudalie, to join them on a 24-hour press trip to NYC to celebrate the launch of their new Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Night Cream that diminishes dark spots thanks to its powerful combination of smoothing glycolic acid and brightening vine sap viniferine. Although it was a quick trip, our time was filled with nothing but eating, drinking and having our skin treated to incredible facials (and products) from team Caudalie.
Heading to NYC for a quick trip? Here’s a look into our itinerary with Caudalie if you want to do it up the way a French girl would:
Where We Lunched
Fresh off the plane from Toronto, our group headed straight to lunch at The Standard Grill–a classic spot in New York’s Meatpacking District that happens to be just across the street from Caudalie’s Spa Cafe & Wine Bar. With it’s gorgeous decor and delectable menu, this American bistro did not disappoint for our first stop of the trip.
Where We Facialed
As soon as lunch was finished we made our way across the street to Caudalie’s Meatpacking location (just one of their unique spa locations in New York City) to each enjoy a personalized facial in the spa area that’s situated just behind their retail space and cafe. Since the location is quite boutique in terms of size, we each went in for facials at different times while sipping on some of Caudalie’s exclusive red wine from their family vineyard in Bordeaux in between. No bad, huh?
Where We Stayed
Since Caudalie is a family-owned brand that’s dedicated to using natural ingredients in their products, the team chose the gorgeous 1 Hotel Central Park for us to rest our heads for the night. Upon arrival, it was easy to see why the Caudalie team chose 1 Hotel’s Central Park location to host their guests to stay and attend their private dinner event. Filled with natural elements from floor to ceiling (their lobby is a plant-lady’s dream come true), the hotel feels boutique in style yet each room is spacious and filled with natural light. Oh and that luxe King size bed in my suite? It had me out like a light within five minutes.
Where We Brunched
The next morning we woke up early to trek down to SOHO for brunch before the crew had to head back to the airport (I decided to stay for the weekend). Our jaws dropped to the floor as soon as we walked ito the stunning setting of La Mercerie where the gorgeous concept space includes both a cafe and retail element. Even if you only pop by to sit down for a coffee and admire their $2400 fur throws, I highly recommend it.
