If you’re all about that glow — and let’s be honest, who isn’t — cream blushes are your best bet. Powder formulas are great but during the colder months, our skin gets drier and powders tend to only make it worse. Cream blushes, on the other hand, add a radiant sheen in addition to the colour they provide. Because most cream blushes are formulated with oils, they’re much more hydrating and won’t mess with any dryness.
If you thought cream blushes were tricky to apply, think again because formulas aren’t what they used to be. I used to despise cream blushes because they always messed up my base makeup. However, with the right application technique, it’s foolproof. To achieve a lifted look, apply your blush a bit higher on the cheeks in an upward motion, and blend like your life depends on it. Should you apply too much, simply use your foundation sponge or brush, and buff it away.
Ready to give it a go? Here are seven cream blushes to try!
Beautycounter Cheeky Clean Cream Blush
Made with only clean ingredients are these brand-new Beautycounter cream blushes that offer a light texture with a creamy finish. There are eight shades to choose from, and each one is easily blendable and buildable, so you can make as much or as little an impact as you like.
Maybelline New York Cheek Heat Gel-Cream Blush
You don’t always have to spend big to get gorgeous results. This beauty award-winning cream blush from Maybelline is the brand’s first blush in a tube, but you’d never know. The six beautiful shades offer folks a range of options, and the sheer formula makes it near impossible to overdo it.
NARS Air Matte Sheer Cream Blush
Meet the cream blush that turned me into a convert. This unique, almost whipped blush applies like a dream and blends better than you could ever imagine. There are four matte shades to choose from and one with a shimmer finish, but I find even the matte ones give a gorgeous flush with a hint of highlight.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip & Cheek Glow
Another multi-use blush to have on your radar is this one from Charlotte Tilbury. The Lip & Cheek Glow gives the most gorgeous and warm lit-from-within glow that’s sheer and easy AF to apply.
Fancy Face Cream Blush
If you’re looking to shop locally, enter Fancy Face. The cream blushes here work with every skin tone and they’re a cinch to apply. The shade Blossom is a gorgeous rosy pink and Almost Famous is a peachy, apricot hue that adds a wash of warmth.
Sisley Paris Phyto-Blush Twist
In search of a cream blush with the staying power of a powder blush? I’m thrilled to share that it’s been found in this Sisley Paris Phyto-Blush Twist. My go-to is the newest shade N°7 Berry, which is perfect for fall. A quick swipe delivers major colour, but don’t be nervous because it blends out in a snap.
ILIA Beauty Multi-Stick Cheek & Lip
No matter if you’re a makeup novice or pro, the ILIA Multi-Stick deserves a spot on your vanity. They’re a fave of many because of how the colour effortlessly blends into the skin as if it’s always been there. Plus, it’s two products in one because you can apply it to your lips too.
