Celebrate Day Of The Dead With These Aguamiel Tequila Cocktail Recipes

You might be most familiar with Day of the Dead thanks to the rise in popularity of “sugar skull makeup” for Halloween in recent years, but, it’s important to know that the Day of The Dead is not Mexico’s version of Halloween. Although death is the theme of Dia de los Muertos, the annual two-day celebration is full of colour and life to recognize and pay respect for deceased family members. Whether you were planning to celebrate or not, we’re sharing three delicious Day of the Dead themed cocktail recipes from Aguamiel Tequila because, to be honest, we’ll use any excuse to indulge in tequila cocktails!

Aguamiel Tequila - Day of The Dead cocktail recipes 1

Spectre

Inspired by the James Bond film opening sequence featuring a Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City.

 

What You Need:

60 ml Aguamiel Tequila

15 ml Elderflower Liqueur

Garnish: Edible white flower

What To Do:

Combine all ingredients and stir to combine (?don’t tell James Bond?) strain and serve into a coupe glass

Coco Picante

Inspired by Disney Pixar’s animated “Coco” that celebrates the Mexican traditional holiday

 

What You Need:

45 ml Aguamiel Tequila

1 oz Coconut & Jalapeno syrup

½ oz pineapple juice

1 oz lime juice

Garnish: Dehydrated pineapple

 

What To Do:

Combine all ingredients and shake to combine. Serve on the rocks in an Old Fashioned glass.

Marigold

The three-day fiesta is filled with marigolds, the flowers of the dead.

 

What You Need:

45 ml Aguamiel Tequila

½ oz Apricot syrup

1 oz Peach nectar

½ oz lemon juice

1 dash of strawberry bitters

Garnish: Fresh mint

 

What To Do:

Combine all ingredients and shake to combine. Serve on the rocks in a Collins glass.
