Finding a great deal is something that brings me an immense amount of joy. Whether it’s scouring my local Salvation Army for vintage Creuset dutch ovens, or hunting down the best weekly meal (or happy hour) deal in the city, I am not joking when I say that deal hunting is my true calling in life. My natural gift for sniffing out a great deal is something I like to share with my friends, family and readers because I get very excited about saving money on a fabulous item (or experience) and want everyone else to revel in it too. And why not? Taking advantage of deals and offers can mean you get to go out more often, or put extra money towards rent, savings, or even a new pair of shoes!
As a foodie, I always look forward to Summerlicious and Winterlicious in Toronto to try out new and/or renowned restaurants throughout the city for a fraction of the usual cost, and as a beauty buff, I get giddy when the time comes for Beautylicious to hit the Bloor-Yorkville area in Toronto.
In case you’re not already familiar with Beautylicious Toronto, it is an annual event that gives you the chance to book in for some of the best treatments at salons and spas in the Yorkville area, for a fraction of the cost. Seriously, if you’ve been craving a massage, a facial, or a professional blowout, now is your chance to treat yo’ self!
On now until October 30th, 2016, Beautylicious is the only event of its kind in Canada and offers an array of prix fixe beauty packages from over 50 participating businesses in Bloor-Yorkville. Through Beautylicious, anyone in Toronto has the opportunity to experience a range of hair, spa, skin, health and wellness services for women and men with packages priced at $30, $50, $75 and $125. No matter what kind of service you choose, you are sure to save money and score a great deal from a top spa or salon.
Similar to when Summerlicious and Winterlicious are on in Toronto, I like to use the festivals as opportunities to try new places in the city. This year, I took the time to look through the list of businesses participating in Beautylicious Toronto 2016, and decided to try a facial at Stillwater Spa at the Hyatt.
Although I’ve been to the Park Hyatt Hotel in Toronto many times before, I had never been to the spa. For whatever reason, I’m always a fan of underground spas, and I loved the expansive spa that I found once I headed down to the hotel’s lower level. With it’s large cafe-like lounge area, TV pods in the change rooms, steam rooms, hot tubs, and pools, it felt to me like a place where Batman and Batgirl might go to spa, which is something I totally loved about it.
For this treatment, I opted for the Focused Facial to help my skin recover from a drying summer season, and prep for battling cooler fall weather. As a big fan of Dermalogica products, I was very happy to find that all of the products used during facial treatment were from one of my preferred skincare brands. The treatment was relaxing, and, of course, hydrating – my only regret was not leaving enough time to spend more time relaxing in the steam room, hot tub and little TV pods! So please don’t make that mistake if you book an appointment at Stillwater Spa for yourself.
