Inside The #E7xBOLO Boxing Event for New Circles Prom Boutique

By Gracie Carroll

The are a lot of workouts that I like, but boxing is something that I love. Despite my interest, and even my confidence in knowing how to throw a proper punch, finding a boxing studio I connected with has been a challenge over the years. Most often, they can be intimidating af (even when you’re not totally new to the sport) and dominated by men in a super macho atmosphere. This is the main reason why I was immediately attracted Toronto’s newest boxing studio, BOLO Inc., and felt like jumping for joy when I found out that it’s actually owned and run by a woman!

Caleigh Rykiss (aka @CaleighFit) is the talented force behind this body-love-focused boxing studio that I’ve very quickly become totally obsessed with. Obviously when she suggested hosting a private class for the Edit Seven crew I was over the moon could not wait to start planning our very first event of the year.

For this ‘Boxing & Bubbles’ themed class, we invited our talented team of Edit Seven contributors along with some of our favourite influencers and media personalities who we call friends! In order take part in the free class, we asked all of our attendees to bring a donation for the New Circles Prom Boutique that is currently accepting donations until May 1st.

Although introducing my friends and colleagues to my new favourite fitness studio was an incredibly fun way to help source donations for the New Circles Prom Boutique, it’s important to remember that you don’t need to host an event in order to get involved.

Since you, your family and your friends likely have a few spare dresses, suits, shoes and accessories in your closet, here is a friendly reminder to consider calling upon your own network to help support this great cause. In case you’re unfamiliar with the Prom Boutique, it’s two-day event that is set up by New Circles for teens in need to attend and “shop” (free of charge of course!) to find their dream outfits for prom.

So whether it’s at your office or your next ‘wine night’ with friends, consider setting a date and making it mandatory for everyone to show up with a donation. Currently New Cirlces is most in need of the following items for Prom Boutique 2018:

Of course no event would be complete without swag bags and we were beyond thrilled to provide our attendees with these BOLO-branded knapsacks filled with goodies from our sponsors such as KIND snacks, NAGI energy bars, Consonant Skincare, Marley Natural and more.

Thank you to the BOLO inc. team, all of our guests, our readers and New Circles!
