Try These In-Shower Beauty Picks When You’re Low On Time

By Alexandra Donaldson

in shower beauty picks - shower goals

If I had my way I’d spend time every day really taking care of myself. While the most obvious goals include taking time to exercise and meditate every day, there are some smaller things I’d love to take my time with and that includes my beauty routine. Spending 30, 40 minutes even an hour cleansing and applying products in a way that really promotes self care sounds nice, but the truth is I’m often too rushed in the morning (I just needed that extra twenty minutes of sleep, ya know?) and at night I find it hard to motivate myself to spend the time to slow down. Which is why keeping in mind a few products that offer up quick results and can be used in tandem with showering is key. Yup, that’s right, all of these products are used in the shower so that you can condense the steps—and time—you take to get ready.

Garnier Fructis Sleek Shot

This product helps to smooth hair and speed up drying time and all you have to do is mix a bit of it in with your shampoo, massage it into your scalp and then carry on as usual. It’s perfect for those who prefer to wash their hair in the morning but definitely can’t show up with damp strands at work. Though you might find yourself reaching for it all the time thanks to the super effective argan-oil product.

St. Tropez Pre-Shower Gradual Tan

Okay, so technically this is a pre-shower treatment, but because it only takes one-minute to work, it’s basically part of your shower process. Simply apply to dry skin, wait one minute (actually—just one minute) and then hop in the shower and rinse off. It’s the quickest faux tan you’re likely to see and it can be built up over the course of a couple showers.

Céla Seed to Skin Scrub

Bring the spa home with this skin scrub that gently exfoliates for smoother and softer skin. The formula is also packed with oil and shea butter so once you lift away dead skin you can also hydrate. Plus the scent (including orange peel, cedarwood and patchouli) make for an uplifting sensory experience. Basically, you’re getting the relaxation of the spa in a ten minute shower every time you opt to use this scrub.

Living Proof Perfect hair Day In-Shower Styler

This hair product is perfect for those of us who prefer air-dried strands but are also looking for a little shine and hold too. After shampooing and conditioning, apply this product to your hair from root to tip, then lightly rinse and towel dry when you get out of the shower. It works by leaving behind a resin that binds to the hair and enhances natural texture when dry.

Nivea In-Shower Body Milk

If you find that you’re constantly skipping moisturizer post shower, it’s time to pick up this product that lets you add that much-needed moisture in the shower. Simply apply after cleansing and then rinse off. The formula is absorbed quickly by wet skin and has almond oil so once you step out of the shower you’ll feel smooth and supple—even if you don’t have time to add oil or cream post-shower.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt

Much attention as many of us pay to our manes, we tend to neglect out scalps—which is a major mistake as a healthy scalp means healthier hair. So swap out your regular conditioner for this luxe scrub (just a small amount will do) and massage into your scalp with a bit of water before rinsing away. That’s it. Quick and easy—you won’t even notice you’re adding an extra step to your hair routine a few times a week.
