Weekend Musts: Black Panther, Hello 123 and Lemony Braised Chicken

By Gracie Carroll

The Black Panther hype is all too real my friends and if you do anything this weekend, just please make sure you go see it. You’ll soon discover why. From what to see to what to make, here are this weekend’s musts!

What To See:

If you haven’t gone to see Black Panther yet, we’re not quite sure what you’ve been doing with your life. If you make any plans at all this weekend, make sure one of them includes seeing this phenomenal movie. Not only is Black Panther a beautiful celebration of African culture, but we  really love that it includes so many incredible strong female lead characters who are all totally badass.

Where To Go:

Looking for a new brunch spot to try this weekend? Our latest discovery (and new fave) is called Hello 123 and can be found along the Queen West strip right by the Drake Hotel. Although this cutie spot serves up an entirely vegan menu, you’ll hardly notice with their hearty portions and animal-free versions of your breakfast favourites.

What To Covet:

While most of us are counting down the days until spring, we can’t help but covet the new Moose Knuckles x Mary Katrantzou winter coats that made their runway debut at London Fashion Week just a few days ago. Although there were only four styles featured, we’re so excited for what this major collaboration signifies for what’s to come from Moose Knuckles.

What To Buy:

If you’re a fan of King East and Toronto’s historical district as much as we are, considering supporting Toronto’s First Post Office and the Town of York Historical Society (yes, both are things that exist!) by purchasing a ticket to their upcoming fundraiser on March 6th, 2018. Hosted at the historical (and very beautiful) St. Lawrence Hall, ticket prices range from $20-$35 and will include everything from an auction to a trio of speakers focusing on the King Street pilot project. Click HERE for more info!

What To Make:

As always, we make time on the weekends to slow down and spend some time in the kitchen (because we like to!) and make something delicious. What’s on the menu this week? This delicious Lemony Braised Chicken recipe from Healthyish. Click HERE for the recipe.
