From where to shop some of Toronto’s best local brands this weekend to exploring the world of couples who match (Hi, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle), here’s this week’s round up of Weekend Musts:
What To Do:
This weekend brings the arrival of Toronto’s first shoppable apartment, The 202, and it should be top of your to-do list if you’re interested in a new shopping experience. Curated by Toronto jewellery brand, CUCHARA, the immersive apartment setting will be filled with some of our favourite local brands (think Andrew Coimbra, Mary Young, Namesake and more) that you can shop on site. The pop-up will be open from December 1st to 10th from 12-8pm and can be found at 202 Ossington Avenue.
What To Shop:
Continuing with that local shopping tip, don’t miss visiting the holiday edition of The One of a Kind Show before it ends on Sunday December 3rd. If you’re in need of some help navigating the show (it’s big) check out our list of 15 brands to shop at this year’s Christmas show.
What To Read:
Will anyone ever forget that historical moment when Britney and Justin stepped onto the red carpet in their matching head-to-toe denim ensembles? Never. While their outfit choices would be described as anything but subtle, Vogue’s article on the Subtle Art of Couples Who Match is worth a read for anyone who has started to notice that they match with their partner more and more.
What To Hear:
To be completely transparent, I have never watched the Titanic. I know. So if someone who has never actually seen the movie can enjoy the Titanic 20th Anniversary Special podcast by Capsule ’98, it’s a given that those who have actually seen (and love) the movie need to listen to this episode stat.
What To Watch:
Last week’s viewing of Rolling Stone: Stories From The Edge on HBO naturally lead to George Michael: Freedom. Fan or not, this incredible (and rather heartbreaking) look into the life and career of George Michael should not be missed.
What To Eat:
ICYMI, Michelle Obama visited Gusto 101 for a meal during her recent stop in Toronto. What did she order? Unfortunately we cannot confirm, but if we were to guess it would have been the mushroom pasta and kale salad because, like, what else do you order at Gusto? Good choice Michelle!
What To Make:
It’s officially December so there’s nothing stopping you from indulging in baking holiday treats for others, or just for you. If you’ve not made them yet, be sure to try this Super Quick & Easy Spicy Hermit Bars for the recipe thats like making and insanely delicous gingerbread- cake hybrid.
