This winter I’m all about cozy and comfortable street style looks. No more sacrificing physical warmth and comfort in the name of style. After all, I’m a grown ass woman now and my entire approach to adult style is investing in great pieces that make you look and feel good, rather than leaving you feeling (and looking) like a fashion victim.
Obviously at this time of year that means having a real winter jacket. Not just some sort of flimsy look-at-my-cool-cape kind of thing that might keep you warm in mid-August. One of my favourite winter coats that I picked up this season is The Torontonian by Freed and Freed. Not only is this coat super warm and incredibly well made, but Freed is actually a Canadian heritage brand based out of Winnipeg! This is definitely a brand to look into if you are 1. looking to buy Canadian, and 2. looking for an alternative to the standard parka this winter.
The rest of my uniform as of late has consisted of this cozy and super soft Obey sweatshirt, paired with Yoga Jeans by Second Clothing that are also made in Canada! If you have never tried a pair, I highly suggest getting to your nearest Jean Machine as soon as possible to get them on your body. Yes, the are stretchy enough to do yoga in. Yes, they also feel like a second skin.
Of course, accessories are always important too. Personally, I’m the kind of girl who likes to wear understated pieces that can be worn everyday, barely even having to take them off. This month, I’m proud to announce that I’m one of the new Toronto brand ambassadors for Triwa Watches, and you can look out for a giveaway coming very soon!
When walking around in the outdoors, just be sure to have accessories that meet fashion and function. I personally can’t live without my awesome leopard tote by Brave Leather (made in Toronto!), Orla Kiely x Clarks Boots (so comfy!), Jimmy Choo cat eye sunglasses, and my fun (and super warm) pom pom hat from GotStyle.
Stay warm, and stay stylish everyone!
